Last May 10, 2023, the Community Relation and Information Office of Pasig City spearheaded a whole day seminar for the 30 Barangays of Pasig City. The seminar, participated by elected barangay officials, focused on people empowerment, people’s participation, participatory governance, the barangay development plan, and the barangay functionality assessment. Atty. Tristan Ambrosio Reyes was blessed to be part of the event as their guest speaker emphasizing that “the law has the power to make positive changes that promote and protect the rights of the people for a better tomorrow.” While the task is daunting for said officials, everyone was reminded that “true democracy is realized in the active participation of the people in governance, for it is their voices and actions that realize their true will.”

On April 17, 2023, the United Civil Societies of Pasig collaborated with the People’s Law Enforcement Board of Pasig City for a comprehensive seminar regarding the latter’s role in society. The event was attended by different NGO’s and CSO’s of Pasig City. Atty. Tristan Ambrosio Reyes was invited to impart his views regarding basic understanding of the law and how people can make informed decisions for themselves and their causes. He emphasized that by understanding legal rights and options, people may be empowered. When people understand laws and regulations, they are better equipped to participate in local governance, part of the democratic process, and hold public officials accountable. Empowering individuals with legal knowledge creates a more just and equitable society.

The IBP Rizal (RSM) Chapter provided the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Seminar for lawyers that was held on March 24, 25, 31 and April 1, 2023 at the JBL Hall of the IBP National Office. The members of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) are required every 3 years to complete at least 36 hours of continuing legal education to ensure that they are kept abreast with law and jurisprudence, complying with the ethics of the profession, as well as enhancing the standards of the practice of law. Atty. Tristan Ambrosio Reyes participated in said event as a lecturer on the subjects: Legal Ethics; and Trial and Pre-trial Skills.
